TGimje has the largest barley fields in Korea and is the hub city in Saemangeum. The Horizon Barley Field Festival is held around Jinbong-myeon every May.
The festival widely promotes Jinbong-myeon with a variety of tourist attractions and broad barley fields.
The festival operates a wide range of programs that everyone can enjoy and events presenting local specialties. The festival changed the venue to Saemangeum.

Events include the Barley Children Drawing Contest, arts performance by residents and artists in Gimje, food market, farmers’ market, Find Golden Barley giving pure gold to those who find the good luck ticket hidden in the barley field, traditional games, such as arrow throwing, shuttlecock kicking and spinning top, and tractor carriage rides crossing the blue barley field on a tractor.
