Village History
Josugol is comprised of twelve villages, Beomdonggol, Simsanggol, Songsagol, Byeokjanggol, Ajangjigol, Bamgaegol, Siam(sem)gol, Agakgol, Jigol, Taemegol, Surokgol, and Junggol, has prospered over the years, and descendants gradually spread to areas such as Wonjo, Jungjo, Namjo, Dangsan, Jungsang, and Soramaeul.
In 2011, as part of the Rural Village Development Project, six villages came together to form a single district, which was then named Josugol District Village.
Agricultural products cultivated in the district include sweet potatoes, potatoes, peanuts, sesame seeds, and perilla seeds. Sweet potatoes, in particular, are most delicious as they are grown in the red clay fields.
