Kkotbitdeuri Festival
The Kkotbitdeuri Festival, the representative spring festival presented by the Gimje Municipal Government, aims to vitalize the community by developing night experience content in the downtown area, using the Community Extinction Fund provided by Jeonbuk State, for presenting happiness to the citizens through flowers and lights in spring. The night landscape lighting is installed around the Community Culture and Sports Park and a variety of cultural experience events are performed.
The festival is meaningful as a community festival that the social cooperative Gimje Farming Village Vitalization Center, private organizations in Gimje, and local residents initiatively participate. The festival presents a wide range of things to see, have, and enjoy, including local food, art, youth culture and art contest, Gimje citizens song festival, flea market for the youth and children, farmers’ market for agricultural specialty, citizens’ artwork exhibition, cherry blossom event, food market, photo zone, experience booths, unique night performance, and art performances during the day.
Visitors can fully enjoy the mood of spring walking under the cherry trees.
The festival is held in the Gimje Community Culture and Sports Park between March and April every year.
