Introduction of tourist site

Government Office is the local tangible cultural property no.60 and was designated as historic site no.482 on July 31st, 2007. It is government office building that the local officials executed political affairs in Joseon Dynasty. Gimje Government Office was an office space of Gimje governor who was the best influential person in Gimje county. Generally, it is called Government Office distinguished from Living Quarters which are the living space of district magistrate . In the 25th year of Sukjong, the Government Office was repaired and named as Sachilheon(事七軒) by the Gimje governor Lee Se-seong. In other words, Government Office is a general term which indicates a building with an office space of district magistrate and is ordinarily called Sachilheon or Geunminheon.

To get into Sachilheon, there were three gates even though all of them are disappeared. First, it had to pass Hongsalmun Gate which set boundary of government and people. Then, it had to get Oesammun Gate which gatekeepers stood and pass Naesammun Gate across Jilcheong which was the office space of petty officials.

Living Quarters are the local tangible cultural property no.60 and was designated as historic site in July 31st, 2007. It is a living space of a district magistrate and his family. According to oral tradition, it was built in 1667 when was the construction period of Gimje Government Office. Currently, only the ㄷ style main building remains, but there were several attached buildings including interior servants' quarters, Gobangchae, interior bathroom, etc. Living Quarters are located behind of Government Office. As Living Quarters attached to Government Office, the used wood is great, and plinth is facing carefully in the great. It is a gambrel roof and single layer eaves. Because it is a formal building with the great member of framework, the current banjaxed figure also shows the simple and impressive balanced old figure of Naedongheon.
