Every fall, Gimje holds the Gimje Horizon Festival, the Representative Festival of South Korea that brings infinite satisfaction to visitors from around the world.

Starting from the 1st Gimje Horizon Festival in 1999,

we created

the one and only image of the region on the theme

of the horizon, which brings heaven and earth together,

and created a world-renowned festival,

telling everyone about the home of the rice farming culture

through Beokgolje, the magnificent historical remains of farming culture,

and named it the Gimje Horizon Festival.

The festival on the unique historical nature and farming culture of Gimje and Saemangeum,

the Gimje Horizon Festival,

will excite participants for 5 days with 70 plus events,

hoping all visitors enjoy glimpses into different farming cultures and experience farm life,

including cultural events, traditional events, experiential events,

ancillary events, permanent events, evening events, and in-city events.

The legend of the construction of Byeokgolje Reservoir,

‘Ssangyong Nori’

and Ipseok Tug-of-War, wishing for a year of abundance,

are held at a large scale by reflecting the historical nature of Byeokgolje

and the hope for a rich harvest.

Also, a variety of festival events

for both domestic and foreign tourists

buttress the meaning of the festival,

which brings everyone together.

The Gimje Horizon Festival has become highly regarded as a festival that everyone across sexes and age groups can enjoy, as it encourages the participation of tourists visiting the city each year as well as the local residents, and offers a number of events that reflect Korean farming culture and related memories.

The Gimje Horizon Festival achieved the perfect balance between agriculture, festival, and marketing,
